APAWLA is pleased to endorse APAWLA Lifetime member, Ann Park, for LACBA President-Elect. Ms. Park is currently LACBA’s Senior Vice President, and serves on its Executive Committee, its Finance Committee, and the Counsel for Justice’s Board and Executive Committee. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Racial and Social Justice Task Force and as Vice Chair of the Diversity in the Profession Committee. Ms. Park has worked tirelessly her entire career to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.


LACBA election is taking place online from now to June 1 for eligible LACBA members. Ballots and login credentials were emailed to LACBA members on 5/3 and 5/12 from “LACBA@intelliscaninc.net”, and will be emailed again on 5/19 and 5/26. In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) recognized Leana S. Taing, APAWLA’s Board of Governors and Past President, on this week’s newsletter, The Current.


APAWLA is proud of Leana’s contributions to the community! In addition to serving on the APAWLA board, Leana also serves on the Advisory Council for Racial Justice and Equality for Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and the President’s Task Force on Racial and Social Justice for LACBA. In 2020, Leana and her Mentorship Committee Co-Chair, Christine Gonong, created APAWLA’s Trailblazer Speakers Series. Our next Trailblazer Speakers Series features a conversation with Hon. Jacqueline H. Nguyen next Thursday, May 20, from 12:30-1:30 PM.
